Prof. Phoebe Koundouri Addresses Systemic Approaches to Water Security and SDG Implementation at Climate Week NYC
Prof. Phoebe Koundouri spoke at the exclusive Climate Week NYC dialogue, “Water Security Now: Partnerships, Innovation, and Global Resilience,” held at Civic Hall, New York.
In her remarks, Prof. Koundouri emphasized that achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires systemic transformations that interconnect nature, economy, and society. Through AE4RIA – Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Αephoria, she explained, human-centered transition pathways are designed—supported by international projects, AI tools, and decision-support systems—to accelerate progress toward climate neutrality and resilience.
Prof. Koundouri further highlighted the integration of AE4RIA within SustainChain™®, a UN-backed global digital collaboration platform that brings together innovators, scientists, policymakers, businesses, and citizens to co-create and scale solutions for the SDGs. SustainChain functions as a dynamic ecosystem in which knowledge, resources, and partnerships converge to drive systemic transformation.
