Dr. Evangelos Vlachos received his Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics, MSc in Signal Processing and Telecommunications, and Ph.D. in Signal Processing for Wireless Communications from the University of Patras (UoP), Greece, in 2005, 2009, and 2015, respectively.

Following his doctoral studies, he held a series of postdoctoral appointments. From 2015 to 2016, he focused on distributed signal processing over networks at UoP's Laboratory of Signal Processing and Telecommunications. Later in 2016, he joined UoP's Visualization and Virtual Reality Group to research graph signal processing, earning a Best Paper Award at IEEE ICME 2017. He then moved to the University of Edinburgh, where he researched signal processing for communications at the Institute for Digital Communications (IDCOM) from 2017 to 2019.

In 2019, Dr. Vlachos joined the Industrial Systems Institute (ISI) at the "ATHENA" Research Centre as a Research Associate. He currently serves as a Tenured Researcher (Researcher C) at ISI, leading a research group dedicated to Joint Communication, Control, and Sensing. Alongside his primary research role, he teaches at the University of Patras and holds a visiting position at the University of Sussex.

His foundational research interests span wireless communications, machine learning, optimization, and adaptive control algorithms. Today, his work bridges fundamental research with real-world validation in 6G networks and Cyber-Physical Systems, with specific emphasis on Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC), UAV swarm coordination, U-Space resilience, and Model-based Machine Learning.
