On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, the Deputy Governor of the Region of Western Greece, responsible for Citizen Services and Digital Governance, Mr. Theodoros Vasilopoulos, visited the Athena Research Center. He is well acquainted with the Center due to various collaborations and outreach activities, as well as the ongoing partnership with the Region regarding the construction of the Athena building in Patras.

 

Mr. Vasilopoulos was welcomed by the President of Athena, Professor Ioannis Emiris. They discussed potential synergies between the Center's research activities and key issues related to agri-food, the use of digital technologies, sustainability, and the needs in smart agriculture.

 

Athena is committed to applied research and aims to address societal needs by providing advanced technological solutions.

 

After their discussion, Professor Ioannis Emiris guided Mr. Vasilopoulos through the facilities of Athena, where he had the opportunity to meet several researchers and learn about the latest technological developments of the organization.
