09-04-2025

As part of the Athens College Alumni Association Environmental Conference held on Friday, March 28, first-year high school students from Athens College and Psychico College presented the results of their participation in the PSLifestyle Test. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Women Innovation Unit (WINN) of the Athena Research Center.

Through the online Lifestyle Test application, the students had the opportunity to assess their personal carbon footprint and analyze the environmental impact of their daily habits. The tool provided data that was used for research purposes, enhancing students’ environmental awareness in an experiential and interactive way.

Their presentation, titled “Carbon Footprint and Sustainable Habits: A Research-Based Approach,” fostered student dialogue around sustainability, offering a fresh and meaningful perspective on the conference’s central theme. The students highlighted the importance of individual responsibility and everyday action in protecting our planet.

The event was honored by the presence of Professor Yannis Emiris, President of the Athena Research Center, who participated in the conference as a member of the Scientific Committee, highlighting the importance of linking technology with environmental efforts to build a sustainable future.

The participation of the student community in the conference showcased the power of the younger generation as agents of change, as well as the crucial role of education and innovation in shaping a greener and more responsible world.

What changes can we all make for a more sustainable planet?

The answer may begin with our simple, everyday choices.
