The 3rd International Summer School on Natural Language Processing – AthNLP 2025 – was held in Athens

The Athens Natural Language Processing Summer School (AthNLP) took place in Athens from September 4 to 10, 2025, hosted at the premises of the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”. This year’s edition was co-organized by NCSR Demokritos, the Athena Research Center (through both its Archimedes Unit and the Institute for Language and Speech Processing), the Department of Informatics at Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh), and the ELLIS Unit Manchester.
A total of 175 applications were submitted, and 90 students and early-career researchers from Greece and abroad were selected to attend. The week-long program combined lectures, hands-on workshops, presentations, and interactive discussions on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning, featuring internationally renowned academics and industry professionals. Over the years, AthNLP has become a key event, positioning Greece as a reference point for education and research in Artificial Intelligence and, in particular, NLP. Participants had the opportunity to delve into crucial topics such as Large Language Models (LLMs), cutting-edge ML techniques, and their applications in real-world problems.
