Activity Report 2025

The Athena Research Center 2025 Activity Report presents a year of consolidation and strategic growth, marked by a strong scientific presence, significant international distinctions, and new opportunities for research and innovation.

2025 saw major developments across some of the Center’s flagship initiatives. HERON – the Hellenic Center of Excellence in Robotics officially began its operations, while PHAROS – the Greek AI Factory entered its implementation phase. At the same time, Athena’s innovation activities and international collaborations continued to expand. In parallel, the upgrade and expansion of Athena’s building and research infrastructure, supported by the Recovery and Resilience Facility, laid the foundations for the Center’s next phase of development.

The Report brings together the research, people, collaborations, and initiatives that shaped 2025 from talent development and technology transfer to Open Science, outreach, equality, and inclusion.
