The five-member
EUCLID research team (Demokritus University of Thrace, R.C. ATHENA) won the first place in the IFBME Science Challenge 2022, for the publication "Predicting Early Dropouts of an Active and Healthy Aging App" (IUPESM WC 2022). The team consisted of two researchers from "Athena" RC,
George Drosatos, Assistant Researcher at the
Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) of ATHENA Research Center and
Pavlos Efraimidis, Associate Professor at the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) and collaborating faculty member at ILSP, Xanthi Division, together with three researchers from DUTH.
More than 20 teams from different parts of the world took part in the competition. The EUCLID team won with a score of 0.8635, the UBU team (Ubon Ratchathani University, Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Thailand) was in the 2nd place with a score of 0.7970 and, finally, the GIB team (University of Valladolid, Grupo de Ingeniería Biomédica, Spain) in the 3rd place, with a score of 0.75.
