AthNLP 2026 is jointly organized by NCSR Demokritos, Athena Research Center, the Department of Informatics at the Athens University of Economics and Business, Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, and ELLIS Unit Manchester, bringing together students, early-career researchers, and established scientists from around the world.

Over the course of one week, participants will explore the latest developments in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence through intensive lectures, workshops, and scientific exchange. The programme covers cutting-edge areas including Large Language Models (LLMs), Multimodal AI, and modern neural network architectures.

A key highlight of this year’s programme is its 10 invited speakers, distinguished researchers and experts from leading universities, research labs, and organizations worldwide, including the University of Copenhagen, NYU Abu Dhabi, the University of Hong Kong, Utrecht University, UCL, George Mason University, and Cohere Labs.

Alongside its scientific and educational programme, AthNLP fosters international networking and the exchange of ideas, creating opportunities for the next generation of researchers to engage with the global research community and build new collaborations.
