Yannis Ioannidis Re-elected as ACM President

Second Term for Professor and Former Athena President Yannis Ioannidis at the Largest Educational and Scientific Association in the Field of Computer Science

The ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) has re-elected Professor Yannis Ioannidis as President for a two-year term starting on July 1. Professor Ioannidis is a Professor of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of Athens, collaborates with the Athena Research Center, coordinating numerous research projects over the past 15 years, and served as President of Athena from 2011 to 2021. He has been a member of ACM since 1983 and has served the organization in various capacities.
 
The election was conducted through an online voting process, with all active ACM members worldwide eligible to vote. Ioannidis' re-election is a notable distinction for Athena, both because of the prestigious position held by this distinguished scientist and member of the Athena family, and due to ACM's prominence in the field of computer engineering. The entire Athena community wishes him another successful and creative term at the helm of this leading organization.
