A significant event in the field of promoting women’s entrepreneurship took place on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Villa Costa in Nea Erythraia, in celebration of International Women’s Day. The event, titled "Supporting Women’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship", was organized by the Municipal Equality Committee of the Municipality of Kifisia (MEC) in collaboration with the Innovation Unit for Women of the Athena Research Center. It brought together prominent women entrepreneurs, as well as women in key leadership positions, with a highly enthusiastic audience.

 

The event was also attended by a large number of representatives from the Region and the Municipality of Kifisia, and was greeted by the Mayor of Kifisia, Mr. Vasilis Xypolytas, and the Deputy Mayor of Kifisia, Mrs. Maria Salmatani, who is also the President of DEPIS Kifisia, the organization behind the event.

 

The Head of the Innovation Unit for Women at the Athena Research Center, Ms. Eleni Petra, the moderator of the discussion, highlighted the role and work of the Unit. Dr. Laura Alipranti, Sociologist and Assistant Professor at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), provided the social dimension of women’s entrepreneurship and innovation at the European and national levels. The founder of the non-profit organization Rise Club, Ifigeneia Karanasiou, and the CEO of e-fresh.gr, Zina Mavroeidou, shared their personal entrepreneurial experiences, while the CEO of TMEDE Microfinance Solutions, Marilena Bouzoura, presented the prospects for microfinancing in the Greek ecosystem.
