With an impressive turnout of over 500 attendees, the Athena Forum 2024 took place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Cultural Center of the Benaki Museum, located at 138 Pireos Street, leaving the best impressions!
The event was opened with a greeting from the Deputy Minister of Development, Zoi Rapti, who addressed the audience via a speech from Brussels, where she was attending European Parliament sessions that unfortunately prevented her from being present in person.
The Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, followed with his own address, while the President of Athena, Professor Ioannis Emiris, after thanking the distinguished guests and the audience, officially opened the event.
Notably, prominent figures from the business world, the government, and the research and academic communities participated, not only as speakers on discussion panels but also as attendees in the front rows, eager to follow the engaging themes presented. Among them were the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Christos Dimas; Member of Parliament and Chair of the Special Committee on Research and Innovation of the Hellenic Parliament, Stratos Simopoulos; former Rector of the National Technical University of Athens, Professor Andreas Boudouvis, the Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Google in Greece, Cyprus, and Malta, Eugenia Bozou, the President of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), Professor Nektarios Tavernarakis, and many other distinguished guests.
Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to explore a parallel exhibition where researchers from all Institutes and Units of Athena presented key research outcomes.
The highly interesting discussions that took place during the Forum were recorded, and soon, those who were unable to attend the major Athena event will be able to watch them.
