The Medical Informatics Platform (MIP) has received the Best Demo Award at the 27th International Conference on Extending Database Technology (EDBT 2024) in Paestum, Italy. The EDBT conference is a leading research venue in Data and Information Technology, and this award celebrates the innovation achievements of the Athena Research Center and the Information Management Systems Institute team. The MIP development has been supported by the EU Horizon 2020 EBRAINS (No. 945539, Human Brain Project SGA3) and EU Horizon EBRAINS 2.0 (No. 101147319).

 

Athena had a strong presence at EDBT 2024, with a keynote talk delivered by Georgia Koutrika on "Natural Language Data Interfaces: A Data Access Odyssey" and two research papers presented by the IMSI team on QPSeeker and GPU acceleration.
