The
Athena Research Center participated in the
European BIG DATA VALUE FORUM 2025, the flagship annual European conference on the Data Economy, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence, which took place on
12–14 November 2025 in
Copenhagen.
In the context of our presence at the conference, Dr. Georgios Papastefanatos, Research Director at the Institute for the Management of Information Systems, took part as a speaker in the thematic session “EUDATA+: A Journey Through the Data Lifecycle – Innovations, Use Cases, Values”, which focused on Big Data and the data value chain, within the cluster of projects: PISTIS, FAME, UPCAST, enRichMyData, DATAMITE, Graph-Massivizer, and ExtremeXP.
Dr. Papastefanatos’ contribution highlighted the value of data across their entire lifecycle from collection and management to their exploitation in high–added value applications as well as the role that research projects play in shaping a coherent European data ecosystem.
Participation in EBDVF 2025 was an excellent opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and showcasing the work of the Athena Research Center in the field of data exploitation and AI technologies at the European level.
