This year’s 89th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), which coincides with the 100th anniversary of the institution’s founding, marks a dynamic presence by the Athena Research Center. The Center will showcase a wide range of innovative applications that combine advanced technology with social impact. From artificial intelligence in healthcare and legal information to cultural technologies and educational initiatives, Athena’s exhibits will highlight the tangible contribution of research to everyday life.

 

Notable exhibits include a diagnostic system that automatically generates medical text from images, the innovative legal chatbot “Eureka” AI-powered applications for digital histopathology, and a series of cutting-edge robotic systems. Special focus is given to research and development of Large Language Models (LLMs) in Greek, as well as to AI applications in culture, education, sustainable development, and smart cities.

 

Athena also participates with outreach activities related to major educational initiatives such as the Bebras computational thinking competition for students, the European Code4Europe project, and the LifestyleTest app for assessing citizens’ carbon footprint.
