Dr. George C. Karras, is an Associate Professor at the University of Thessaly, Department of Informatics & Telecommunications. He has worked in the past as a Researcher at the Control Systems Lab, School of Mechanical Engineering NTUA, as well as a Research Engineer at the Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI), Electronics Dept. He holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (NTUA 2003), a Master's Degree in Automatic Control Systems and Robotics (NTUA 2006), as well as a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (NTUA 2011). His scientific interests extend to the fields of robotics, automatic control, mechatronics, fault diagnosis and accommodation, system integration and computer science. He has significant experience in the fields of unmanned robotic vehicles (sea, air, ground), visual servo control, sensor fusion, system identification, linear and non-linear control and Artificial Intelligence. He has authored over 70 publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and conferences.
