The participation of the Industrial Systems Institute (ISΙ) of the Athena Research Center in the international digital technology and innovation exhibition BEYOND 2025 was successfully concluded. The event was held for the first time in Athens, from April 4 to 6 at the Metropolitan Expo.
This year's BEYOND, themed “AI Reality Bites”, attracted more than 15,000 visitors and over 300 exhibitors from Greece and abroad, establishing itself as an international hub for technological innovation, strategic partnerships, and the dissemination of research knowledge.
The Institute of Industrial Systems of Athena actively participated in the BEYOND exhibition through Thematic Talks and Exhibition Activities. Specifically, under the coordination of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI), ISI/Athena organized two presentations:
- Friday, April 4, 15:00–16:00: “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning for Next Generation 6G Networks”. Research projects and technological applications by INBIS were presented, focusing on the use of AI in 6G infrastructure, with an emphasis on efficiency, security, and autonomy of communication systems.
- Saturday, April 5, 16:00–16:30: “The Contribution of Artificial Intelligence to Intelligent Transportation Systems and Road Safety”. The presentation highlighted AI applications in transportation and road safety, showcasing innovative solutions for developing “smart” mobility systems.
At its dedicated booth in the exhibition area, ISI/Athena showcased:
- Industrial informatics platforms and cyber-physical systems.
- Applied research projects in AI, edge computing, and interconnected systems.
- Activities connecting with the productive sector and industry.
The exhibition served as a point of contact with visitors, researchers, business representatives, and public bodies, enhancing extroversion and collaboration potential.
Athena Research Center’s active presence extended to the core sessions of the BEYOND Forum with two distinguished participations:
- Friday, April 4, 16:50–17:20: During the session “Pharos – The Greek AI Factory”, Professor Yiannis Emiris, President of the Board and General Director of the Athena Research Center, participated as a speaker, presenting the Center’s role in the national AI strategy and the Pharos initiatives.
- Saturday, April 5, 16:30–16:45: During the session “Artificial Intelligence as a Key Factor in Cybersecurity and Privacy”, Professor Chrysostomos Stylios, Director of ISI/Athena, spoke on the challenges and solutions related to data security and privacy in high-tech environments.
ISI/Athena’s participation in BEYOND 2025 offered a comprehensive showcase of its research and technological capabilities. Both the Industrial Systems Institute and the Athena Research Center as a whole continue to invest in innovation and partnerships with research, institutional, and business stakeholders, aiming to generate applied research and innovation while effectively connecting it to the market and the economy.
