Renewal of Agiatis Benardou’s Term as Director of DARIAH-EU until 2028

The Athena Research Center warmly congratulates Dr. Agiatis Benardou, Research Associate at the Digital Curation Unit of the Information Management Systems Institute (IMSI), on the unanimous renewal of her term as Director of DARIAH-EU through the end of 2028.
The decision was made during the 29th General Assembly of DARIAH-EU, held at the Cyprus Institute and online on Wednesday, 19 November 2025. The renewal of Dr. Benardou’s term reflects the General Assembly’s confidence in her vision, contributions, and long-standing dedication to DARIAH-EU.
Dr. Benardou’s involvement with DARIAH began in 2009, during the preparatory phase of the Infrastructure, when she contributed to the collection of user requirements, laying the foundation for its future design. Since 2023, she has been a member of the Board of Directors, and since 1 September 2024 she has served as President of the DARIAH-EU Board of Directors.
