The New Book “Tales from MEDNIGHT – 5th Edition” Is Out!

A book filled with the Mediterranean, science, and childhood curiosity

24-07-2025

The fifth edition of the “Tales from MEDNIGHT” collection has just been released as part of the MEDNIGHT initiative, continuing a unique publishing effort that blends imagination with science, and the Mediterranean with education.

The book features short stories inspired by nature, the sea, everyday life, and contemporary scientific discoveries written in a way that is accessible, vivid, and engaging for both children and adults. Through characters such as children, animals, researchers, and historical figures, “Tales from MEDNIGHT” aims to build bridges between science and society through emotion, storytelling, and curiosity.

Can science fit within the pages of a children’s book? If you ask the creators of this edition, they’ll tell you absolutely. Because science doesn’t live only in laboratories; it also lives in the curious eyes of children who ask “why” in the stories told with imagination and sensitivity, and in the corners of the Mediterranean that continue to inspire.

So if you’re looking to see the Mediterranean from a new perspective, a bit more playful, a bit more scientific, then the new MEDNIGHT book is a great place to start. You can find the English edition here.

As this year’s MEDNIGHT approaches (Friday, 26 September 2025 in Xanthi), the Athena Research Center is once again preparing a world full of hands-on activities, workshops, and surprises for all ages, featuring the participation of its researchers. Stay tuned!
