Memorandum of Understanding between Athena RC and the Association of Businesses and Industries of Peloponnese and Western Greece
Transfer of know-how and strengthening of entrepreneurship

Athena RC / Industrial Systems Institute (ISI) and the Association of Businesses and Industries of Peloponnese and Western Greece (SEBPE & DE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on February 14th, 2022, aiming at a closer cooperation between research and industry.
The Memorandum of Understanding has a five-year duration and was signed by Professor Ioannis Emiris, President and General Director of Athena RC and the Chairman of the Board of SEBPE & DE, Professor Emeritus Kleomenis Barlos, in the presence of the Director of ISI, Professor Chrysostomos Stylios and the General Director of SEBPE, Nikolaos Kotsonis. The event took place at the Science Park of Patras, and aims at fostering new knowledge, transferring know-how between the two organizations and strengthening Innovative Entrepreneurship.
The following are the main areas of cooperation:
• Updating the companies and Industries of the Association and technology transfer regarding the 4th Industrial Revolution, Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Cyber Security
• consulting services for networking and use of financial means at national, regional and european level
• networking services for the members of SEBPE & DE with Research / Academic entities in Greece and abroad
• organization of information / education / training activities of the enterprise and research community through seminars and workshops.
• mutual support and exchange of know-how to strengthen entrepreneurship.
The Director of Athena RC I. Emiris pointed out: "This memorandum reconfirms the strong commitment of Athena RC to promote research results in close cooperation with manufacturing entities, but also to strengthen the regional dimension of its activities ".
The President of SEVPE, Professor Emeritus K. Barlos, on the other hand, stated "In our judgement, the new model of production and development must be based on knowledge and transfer of know-how; in this respect, the role of RC Athena/ ISI is considered very important. Our region already has a very active and rapidly developing ecosystem within which the cooperation of SEVPE and Athena R.C. / ISI will soon yield results that will contribute to the immediate improvement of the business environment and, hopefully, stop young people from fleeing our region ".
