Eurobank and the Athena Research Center, supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation of the Ministry of Development, signed a two-year Memorandum of Cooperation. The memorandum was signed at Eurobank's headquarters on Friday, January 24, 2025, by the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Athena, Professor Yiannis Emiris, and the CEO of the Bank, Mr. Fokion Karavias, in the presence of Mr. Timos Sellis, Director of the “ARCHIMEDES” Research Unit of Athena.
The Memorandum of Cooperation aims to provide Eurobank with specialized expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science & Algorithms, fostering collaborative relationships in these fields, and enhancing the Bank's digital transformation to improve the daily lives of all its customers through the use of cutting-edge technology.
The cooperation will focus on the following areas:

Strengthening Research and Innovation: Establishing a collaborative environment that promotes technological development.

Data Utilization and Analysis: Evaluating and developing digital solutions based on AI technologies.

Enhancement of ARCHIMEDES Research Unit’s Work: Involving interns from the ARCHIMEDES Unit to support the Bank's initiatives within the context of its digital transformation.

Access to Knowledge: Organizing educational lectures, informational events, and thematic workshops by Athena for the exchange of ideas on topics related to AI, Data Science, and Algorithms.
The Chairman of the Board and General Director of Athena, Professor Yiannis Emiris, stated:
