The object of the project was the development of an original CD-ROM with multimedia technology aiming at the short and popular updating of already existing businessmen and prospect investors as well as the general public about the strategic plan for the viable development of North Greece.
The material registered in the CD-ROM is the result of composition and exploitation of already existing and approved relevant reports and institutional regulations on the environmental protection of the geo-strategic, zoning and departmental design of the country, as well as on the special documentation related to the prospective viable development of North Greece in particular, the Balkans and Europe in general.
The material of the CD-ROM includes general and specific characteristics of North Greece related to charts including among others: geo-strategic and geo-political characteristics, population/climate/meteorological elements, use of the land, transportation, telecommunications, developmental resources, employment, market, tourist areas etc. as well as photographs, videos on topics related to the viable development of the area, important public services for investors, internet links etc.
Information content has been built in a user-friendly way enabling easy navigation and access to it.

The project was monitored by the Ministry of Development and Environment; as far as the technological part is concerned, it has been organized and developed by the Institute for Language and Speech Processing / R.C. "Athena" (ILSP / R.C. "Athena")/ Integrate Research for the Information Society ("Athena") under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Research and Technology of the Ministry of Development.
As far as technicalities and topics related to the environment, a scientific team of specialists on the Environment and Geo-strategy of the Department of Environment of the Aegean University has been consulted. Officials of the Ministry of development and other public services offered additional scientific consultation.
