The aim of this project was to develop new intelligent systems for information processing coming from texts, allowing high quality machine translation systems and automatic text indexing systems. The project was based on the co-operation of specialists in computational linguistics and on users of text editors, processors, storage and retrieval systems and machine translation tools (multilingual documentation).
In the GRAAL project a number of reusable grammars were developed, as well as tools for grammar writing and their integration in a certain environment.
