The "National Research Network on Climate Change and its Impacts - CLIMPACT" is an interdisciplinary consortium, in which the majority of the country's academic and research institutions related to the issue of Climate Change and the related climate risks and natural disasters participate.
The State, in collaboration with scientific institutions of the country, following the international trends imposed by the climate crisis and the lived experience of recent years, has set as a major goal the study of the phenomenon and the results of climate change and the related natural disasters and social and economic impacts, as well as the need for the development of innovative tools and related services. To effectively fulfill this goal, the flagship initiative "National Network for Climate Change and its Impacts" was organized in 2017 at the initiative of the National Agency for Climate Change and the research sector of the then-named Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and was funded at the end of 2019 by the Ministry of Development and Investments and the General Secretariat of the Hellenic Republic.
