Hackathon

As part of the Festival of Science: The Voice of the Ocean, taking place from Monday, November 10 to Thursday, November 27, 2025, the French Institute of Greece, in collaboration with the Athena Research Center, is organizing the hackathon: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE OCEAN: INNOVATION… IN 48 HOURS!
 
The hackathon will be held from November 25 to 27, 2025, and invites participants to take on a collective challenge:
“Imagine concrete and innovative solutions for the protection of the Mediterranean.”
 
All enthusiasts of Artificial Intelligence and the Blue Economy including data scientists, marine researchers, economists, students, professionals, and representatives from the public and private sectors are invited to participate, with a focus on areas such as marine biodiversity, aquaculture, radioactivity monitoring in the marine environment, and meteorology.
 
Participants will collaborate to develop innovative solutions aimed at creating a more sustainable and “smart” future for the oceans.
 
The hackathon will take place in hybrid format, and interested participants can register until November 22 via the Registration Form below.
