EIT Climate-KIC is a European knowledge and innovation community, working towards a prosperous, inclusive, climate-resilient society founded on a circular, zero-carbon economy. The
EIT Climate-KIC Hub in Greece has been officially active since May 25, 2018, and is represented by a consortium consisting of
"Αthena" Research Center,
ERFC,
Uni.fund and the
Academy of Athens. "Αthena" Research Center is the project coordinator and Prof.
Phoebe Koundouri operates as the responsible scientific associate.
The Greek EIT Climate-KIC Hub aims to bolster a regional climate innovation movement that will initiate and catalyse strategic innovation within society at large. This expanding movement will eventually bridge the knowledge gap in CleanTech development between Western Europe and the South-East Mediterranean, guiding Greece towards the creation of a zero-carbon economy.
The
EARIE Annual Conference will take place at the campus of the
Hellenic American Educational Foundation's Athens College, at Psychico, north of the center of Athens
on 31st of August to 2nd September 2018. The conference is organized by the Athens University of Economics and Business in collaboration with the
Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research. The long-term impact will be to prevent catastrophic climate change implications through innovative climate-smart solutions.
