Collaboration among the Ministry of Digital Governance, kariera.gr and "Athena" RC

With the aim to strengthen the digital skills in our country

The General Secretariat for Digital Governance and Process Simplification, kariera.gr and Athena RC signed a memorandum of cooperation for strengthening digital skills during the annual "Career Days" event of kariera.gr that took place in Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens on October 8-9, 2022.
 
The General Secretary of Digital Governance and Process Simplification, Leonidas Christopoulos, leader of the National Alliance for Digital Skills and Employment, together with the Founder and CEO of kariera.gr, Theofilos Vassiliadis and the Director of ATHENA Research Center, Professor Ioannis Emiris signed a memorandum of cooperation for the promotion of digital skills in our country. This collaboration between the private and the public sector, to strengthen employment, aims, among other things, to map digital skills in specific sectors of the market, through applications based on AI (Artificial Intelligence) and NLP (Natural Language Processing) technologies, to analyze real labor market data and to constantly update on new trends for digital skills.
 
As a result of this important cooperation, planning of national programs is further strengthened with the aim of upgrading and expanding the skills and knowledge of the candidates (upskilling) as well as the acquisition of new knowledge and skills (reskilling). Additionally, trends in the Greek labor market will be captured and will be added to the platform of the National Alliance which is already in full operation.

In this context, our aim at the Ministry of Digital Governance and, more particularly, at the General Secretariat for Digital Governance and Process Simplification, is to develop fruitful synergies among public and private bodies through the National Alliance for Digital Skills and Employment, in order to reduce the digital gap. Our cooperation with kariera.gr and Athena RC is a typical example of our policy towards strengthening our country's workforce and consolidating a new digital culture", said the General Secretary of Digital Governance and Process Simplification, Leonidas Christopoulos.
 
"The cooperation of the three entities marks the use of digital technology in the study and treatment of key issues related to the labor market, the upgrading of workforce and the management of changes in the global and national work environment. The contribution of ATHENA RC covers all areas of this effort, from the collection and analysis of data to decision-making and policy design", emphasized the Director of ATHENA Research Center, Professor Ioannis Emiris.
 
The Founder and CEO of kariera.gr, Theofilos Vassiliadis, said: "I am particularly happy that today we are joining forces with the Ministry of Digital Governance and ATHENA RC to strengthen digital skills in Greece. kariera.gr will contribute significantly to the planning of the Ministry's strategy in this key labor sector by providing and processing data to map digital skills and trends in the market".
 
The Memorandum of Cooperation signifies the official start of collaboration among the three entities which will soon produce significant results for the labor sector, the digital skills that are in greater demand, as well as the new trends in the Greek market.
