PHILOTIS: State-of-the-art technologies for the recording, analysis and documentation of living languages

Project PHILOTIS focuses on the creation of the infrastructure, the methodology and the tools for the recording and analysis of living spoken languages, with emphasis on idiom. The infrastructure is characterized by state-of-the-art digital image and audio technologies, while the tools developed by PHILOTIS will be an advanced digital platform for language support and analysis using machine learning techniques. The immediate goal is the successful integration of state-of-the-art technologies focused on recording (mainly less) spoken languages and their endowment with resources and tools of electronic processing and translation with the ultimate goal of maintaining and functioning internationally. The development support framework utilizes modern technology and adapts to the specific needs and characteristics of the individual languages, offering methodology, good practices and digital services. PHILOTIS presents the dynamics to support excellence and business activity in the field of Language Technology, translation and education, providing unique resources and cutting-edge technologies. At the same time, it will employ specialized young scientists of the humanities and informatics in the East Macedonia and Thrace Region. The technology that will be developed will be scalable and reusable, which ensures its viability.
