The CoWaters EU Project, with the participation of the Sustainable Development Unit of Athena Research Center, has launched a new Coalition of cities, regions, islands, and ports, supporting the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030.”
The initiative brings together waterfront authorities and key stakeholders to collaborate on addressing critical environmental challenges, including ecosystem restoration, pollution reduction, and the promotion of sustainable blue economy solutions.
Through this Coalition, participants will contribute to the development of Mission Transition Plans, fostering coordinated actions and knowledge exchange across Europe, while supporting local and regional efforts toward climate resilience and environmental sustainability.
The initiative offers an opportunity for organizations to actively engage in shaping the future of ocean and water management, within the framework of European policy and innovation.
