The Greek language, technology, and terminology come together at the 15th Conference “Greek Language and Terminology”, proudly sponsored by Athena. The conference, which will take place from 6–8 November 2025 in Athens, will bring together scholars from Greece and abroad to explore the dynamic relationship between language, terminological research, and artificial intelligence.
The event is organized by the Hellenic Society for Terminology in collaboration with the Department of French Language and Literature of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and the Technical Chamber of Greece (TCG). The opening session will be held at the “Kostis Palamas” Hall of NKUA, while the main conference sessions will take place at the TCG Conference Hall, 4 Nikis Street, Syntagma.
Dedicated to the memory of linguistics professor Panagiotis Kontos, the conference is held under the auspices of the School of Philosophy of NKUA and aims to highlight contemporary research and practice concerning the Greek language in its terminological dimension.
Over the three days, 26 presentations by Greek and international scholars will be delivered. A special highlight will be the Open Discussion on “Artificial Intelligence and Terminology”, on Saturday, 8 November, 17:00–19:00, featuring, among others, Research Director Stella Markantonatou and Scientific Associate Prokopis Prokopidis.
Both the Opening Session and the Open Discussion will offer simultaneous interpretation into Greek Sign Language.
Athena consistently supports initiatives that advance language technology, terminological research, and the integration of artificial intelligence with the humanities, actively contributing to the interdisciplinary development of the field.
