Athena Research Center once again took part in the Athens Science Festival 2025, held at the Athens Conservatoire from 18 to 21 December 2025, in a festive Christmas setting. Visitors of all ages had the opportunity to explore Athena’s research outcomes and see how science and research lead to applications that make everyday life easier and support sustainable development.
In a distinctly celebratory atmosphere and over three consecutive days, Athena’s researchers presented through simple, hands-on demonstrations cutting-edge applications of Artificial Intelligence and robotics, along with a wide range of digital tools designed to highlight the practical value of research in daily life. Specially designed games also encouraged active audience participation. From systems that can converse in Greek and “recognize” dialects, to robots that visitors could interact with, the public did not remain mere spectators, but became part of an engaging, memorable experience.

The response from children and teenagers was especially enthusiastic: they asked questions, tested scenarios, “played” with technologies and digital applications, and saw first-hand how science can be both useful and accessible. The Athena team also used the opportunity for meaningful dialogue with parents, educators and young scientists, opening discussions on how these technologies can be applied in education, healthcare and the environment.
Athena Research Center’s participation in the Athens Science Festival 2025 highlights the importance of communicating science in a simple and understandable way for all ages. Through initiatives like this, Athena strengthens its outreach and connects directly with society, showcasing its research capabilities and areas of activity while actively contributing to the dissemination of innovation.

Through experiential learning and interaction, young people gain a better understanding of science’s role in everyday life and come into contact with modern technologies and applications. Such initiatives serve as a source of inspiration, nurturing curiosity, creativity and a love of knowledge and, why not, opening new horizons for the scientists of tomorrow.
When research is presented in a direct, hands-on way, it can inspire, inform and build bridges. Athena continues to invest in outreach activities that bring science closer to society, making room for curiosity, creativity and dialogue around the technologies that are already shaping tomorrow.
