Proof-of-Concept for Emerging Technologies

Science Agora Launces Call for Applications

09-04-2026

The Athena Research Center, as a member of the Science Agora network, participates in the implementation of the Proof-of-Concept for Emerging Technologies program, an initiative aimed at accelerating the transition of innovative research results from the laboratory to the market.

The program has a total duration of eight months and supports the maturation of highly innovative technologies, enabling research teams and spin-offs to test their solutions in real-world conditions.

Through a combination of funding, advisory support, mentoring, and networking activities, participants enhance both the technological and commercial readiness of their solutions, helping bridge the gap between research and market application.

The program is addressed to teams from Higher Education Institutions and Research Centers in Greece, as well as to existing or under-formation spin-offs developing innovative technological solutions.

The program is implemented in collaboration with the Hellenic Development Bank and is funded under the “Competitiveness 2021–2027” Program, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Application deadline: 4 May 2026
The program consists of distinct phases including application, evaluation, and Proof-of-Concept implementation. It is expected to commence in May 2026 and conclude in December 2026, with participating teams presenting their results at a final Demo Event.

The participation of the Athena Research Center in the Science Agora network reaffirms its commitment to promoting applied research and fostering innovation, actively contributing to the development of a dynamic technology transfer ecosystem.
