Participation of Athena in the 10th Athens Science Festival

Athena participated in one of the largest celebrations of science and technology, which completed ten years of successful events. This year Athens Science Festival, which ran for six days from April 16 to 21, 2024, brought the knowledge of science and the impressive achievements of technology to the Technopolis of the City of Athens. It provided an opportunity for young and old, schools, families, and hundreds of visitors to explore science through fun, innovative, and interactive ways.
The researchers from Athena gave their best throughout the festival days to explain the science and recent technological achievements they had prepared to present to the public. They also engaged in interactive games, technology, and virtual reality with our young friends, offering unique experiences and gaining valuable feedback from the interaction and response of the audience.
The public attendance was also significant at the talks scheduled by prominent representatives of the Institutes and Units of Athena. Noteworthy presentations included a talk by Konstantinos Daskalakis, Professor of Computer Science at MIT and Principal Scientist of the Archimedes Unit of Athena, on "How Artificial Intelligence Fails" at the Technopolis Amphitheater. Other highlights included Professor Phoebe Koundouri, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit of Athena, participating in the workshop "Artificial Intelligence for a Sustainable Future," and Dr. Eleni Petra, Head of the Women's Innovation Unit, who explained how to make our lives sustainable in the Innovathens hall. Additionally, the Coralia Unit of Athena hosted a workshop, Startab, teaching participants how to become "The Entrepreneur of Tomorrow."
Returning to the labs, our researchers aim to continue surprising us with technology, and we look forward to much more "Tales of Change" at the next Athens Science Festival.
