The Athena Research Center actively participated in Data Week 2025, held on May 27–28 in Athens, highlighting significant research achievements in the fields of data and artificial intelligence. The event was organized by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) in collaboration with leading Greek organizations.
Three representatives from Athena contributed to the program:

Vasilis Katsouros, Director of the Institute for Language and Speech Processing, presented the PHAROS project, focusing on data challenges and infrastructures such as AI Factories, Data Labs, and Data Spaces.

Stelios Piperidis introduced the LDS project, which aims to develop the Language Data Space as part of the Common European Data Spaces ecosystem.

George Papastefanatos, coordinator of ExtremeXP, presented solutions for extreme data analytics, emphasizing user experience and decision accuracy.
This participation reflects Athena’s active role in shaping Europe’s future in data-driven innovation and technology.
