Workshop for ERC & MSCA applicants

Gender and intersectionality as drivers of frontier research

17-02-2026

Within the framework of the COST Innovators Project NEXT-GENDER: Inclusive research for the next generation, Athena Research Center organizes the 3-day workshop “Shifting Perspectives: How Gender and Intersectionality Drive Frontier Research”, to be held in Athens on 27-29 April 2026.

The workshop targets researchers preparing proposals for ERC Grants or Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and focuses on how sex, gender and other social and demographic dimensions can be integrated into research not as add-ons but as drivers that sharpen research questions, refine methods and enhance explanatory power.

Participants will benefit from expert guidance, hands-on proposal development sessions, and practical tools and feedback aligned with MSCA and ERC evaluation criteria.

The workshop is open to researchers from COST member and near-neighbor countries aiming to apply for MSCA Fellowships or ERC Grants (Starting, Consolidator or Advanced), across all disciplines and career stages. Travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses are reimbursed according to COST rules.

Application deadline: 23 February 2026

Notification of results: by 13 March 2026
