On 8th September, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri participated virtually, in the UN Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition (CEET) Annual Meeting in Beijing, representing the SDSN Global Climate Hub. The session convened leading experts from around the world to discuss low-carbon energy solutions and the transformation of the energy and transportation sectors.
During the meeting, Prof. Koundouri presented insights from the work of the Global Climate Hub, emphasizing pathways to accelerate sustainable transitions and lessons learned in translating research into actionable strategies. The subsequent discussion, involving colleagues from UNDP, Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP), United Nations ESCAP, and the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO), explored practical opportunities for collaboration and scaling impact.
These exchanges highlight the importance of connecting science, policy, and implementation. Collective initiatives of this kind are crucial for advancing a low-carbon, climate-resilient future.
