On Friday, September 30, 2022, ISI/Athena RC organized the panel session "Implementing the disruptive technologies of 4.0 in Greece", where topics related to Industry 4.0 and innovative technologies that can be applied in the Greek industry sector were presented and analyzed. The session was attended by a large number of visitors as well as a large number of online viewers, as it was streamed live on the website of BEYOND Expo.
In the panel session, the Director of ISI Prof. Chrysostomos Stylios, analyzed the key concepts associated with Industry 4.0, such as Cyber-physical Systems and Internet of Things (IoT) and talked about the evolution of the production model and industrial transformation. Moving on, he referred to the nine pillars of Industry 4.0, focusing mainly on the latest trends which can be successfully applied in the Greek industrial reality. Closing his speech, Prof. Stylios presented the contribution of ISI and the technologies of Industry 4.0 in Circular Economy, referring to the technologies that strengthen Circular Economy.Next on, Dr. Apostolos Fournaris presented the actions and results of the European project EnerMan: ENERgy-efficient manufacturing system MANagement, which is implemented by ISI, demonstrating in practice how through the potential of Industry 4.0 technologies, a smart factory can be sustainable in terms of energy, by reducing its energy consumption, energy costs and environmental footprint.
