Agora Labs, a spin-off of the Institute of Information Systems of the Athena Research Center, launches a new digital portal in the health sector and aims to provide answers to key questions in the health sector. Founded in 2022 in collaboration with an Italian artificial intelligence company for breast and prostate cancer diagnosis, it is also working with pharmaceutical company Roche on data analysis in hospital medicines.

 

Agora Labs' platform allows access to real world health data from different sources such as: medical data, hospital databases, patient registries and other sources. Its aim is to answer key questions such as, for example, the side effects of a drug, its interaction with other drugs or substances, its reimbursement costs in health systems, etc. by addressing needs that cannot be met by traditional clinical trials.

 

Agora Labs' founders Minos Garofalakis, Davide Zacanini and Giorgos Pikramenos spoke in the recent Kathimerini article about the need the company comes to fill in secure access to health data.
