The Liaison Office of the Research and Innovation Center in Information, Communication and Knowledge Technologies ("Athena" Liaison Office) attempts to systematize, enhance and expand activities pertaining to the transfer of the technological output of the newly put together Centre to the industry it targets.
Aiming at building the ground for the development of "Athena"’s technological services to the Greek society and industry, "Athena" Liaison Office attempts to use existing know - how emerging from previous liaison and technology transfer activities, especially by ILSP / R.C. "Athena", in order to offer high quality technology transfer services, including the dissemination and marketing of products, services and technologies and the set-up of a solid background for entrepreneurship focused on the research results of "Athena".
The Liaison Office draws together and coordinates all relevant actions of the Institutes, sets shared models and specifications for the processing of information regarding exploitation of research results and flowing through researchers and between partners and customers.
The widest possible dissemination of information to individuals, organizations and companies interested in the specific sector technologies, has been set as a major goal for the Liaison Office. The information provided aims to promote cooperation and needs to cater for dependability and viability through proper infrastructure and processes. The Liaison Office designs and deploys promotion and dissemination events as well as supporting and advertising actions in available media. It also coordinates the presence of "Athena" in trade fairs, conferences, info days, workshops, commercial and industrial meetings and all other promotion opportunities.
Great importance is put on the development of a network of individuals, organizations and institutions that supports the overall presence of Knowledge Technologies, a crucial factor for the development of economy and society in Greece. The Liaison Office builds communication and cooperation channels with all stakeholders in production and dissemination of innovations in the field covered by "Athena".
ILSP / R.C. "Athena" has a crucial participation in the project since it is the only one of the "Athena" Institutes participating in the first phase of operation of GSRT funded Liaison Offices in Universities and Research Centres. That Office has been functionally incorporated in the company chart since its early stages and now forms the core of the Technology Transfer Office, part of the Liaison Department. The expertise that ILSP / R.C. "Athena" enjoys in technology transfer and marketing offers directions and solutions to issues regarding communication with the industrial and production sector, especially on behalf of the newly founded Institutes.
