The Innovation Unit for Women - IUW acts within the framework of the Athena RC, developing the same activity in its scope as the partnership #GIL4W (Greek innovation Lab for Women).
 
The main goal of the unit is to support and promote the issues of innovation and entrepreneurship concerning women in Greece, in addition to supporting the realization of the goals and strategies of the #GIL4W partnership nationwide.
 
The Unit is established with the cooperation of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, at the level of Deputy Minister responsible for Demographic Policy and Family matters, as well as with the Ministry of Development and Investments at the level of Deputy Minister of Research & Innovation under the guidance of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation.
 
The new Unit has a specific target, it intends to act on the issue of gender equality and on the removal of stereotypes in cooperation with the domestic and European innovation ecosystem, the Competence Centers, the new Innovation Hubs as well as the spinoffs/ start-ups of our country, while at the same time it will support and defend the strategic goals of #GIL4W, especially in matters of high-tech knowledge and results transfer to Greek society and to Greek women of all levels of education and proficiency.
