New MSc in Digital Humanities by NKUA, University of Cyprus and "Athena" RC

We are happy to announce that "Athena" Research Center co- organises a new joint postgraduate program in Digital Humanities with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and the University of Cyprus, beginning in the academic year 2023-2024.
 
The new MSc in Digital Humanities taught entirely in English, brings together expertise and teaching from a wide range of academic disciplines within the Humanities: history and archaeology, art history, philology and literature, cultural and heritage studies. Its aim is to provide students with the necessary theoretical and technical tools to apply digital technologies to excavation, library, archive, and museum work, as well as the digital culture and entertainment sector.

The duration of the program is 18 months (three academic semesters), leading to the master’s degree in Digital Humanities. Starting their 2nd semester, students will have to enrol on one of three directions of study: i. Geographic Information Systems; ii. Data Science; iii. 3D Technologies. Individual courses will include: GIS in theory and practice, Data Science and its applications, 3D Technologies in restoration, education and entertainment, and so on.

The entire Program will be taught at Athens, by scholars and scientists from the History & Archaeology and Philology Departments of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the University of Cyprus, and the "Athena" Research Center.
