Industrial Systems Institute participates in YPATIA
A partnership for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Industrial Systems Institute / Athena RC participates in the newly established "YPATIA" a Partnership for Innovation and Entrepreneurship set up between the University of Patras, the University of Peloponnese, the Hellenic Open University, the Computer Technology Institute and Press DIOPHANTUS, the Patras Science Park, the ICE-HT of FORTH and the Industrial Systems Institute. The aim of the partnership is to facilitate the introduction of innovative research to the market both at local and international level. The ambition is for the researchers to take advantage of this endeavor and maximize their material and immaterial profit as a result of their work exploitation.
YPATIA, thus, intends to facilitate all stages that lead to the exploitation of research results including:

supporting academic excellence

strengthening translational and applied research

broad and strong protection of intellectual property

interfacing with the private sector through networking activities

attraction of private investments that will facilitate the further development of innovative research results, through targeted promotional actions

creation of strong strategic partnerships with industry and innovative entrepreneurship.
The three academic institutions of the Region of Western Greece align forces also with the Research institutions that have premises in Western Greece in an effort to reap benefits out of this cooperation for both students and researchers.
The Industrial Systems Institute is specifically aligned with this effort due to its institutional role to support competitiveness of the Greek industry, a role that makes it unique in the Greek research map. To this end its strong focus on Industry 4.0 technologies and research, and their applications to a wide range of diverse verticals can help the ambition of YPATIA to act as a facilitator of innovation and entrepreneurship in the area.
