Open Science Days in Greece

Athena Research Center organizes “Open Science Days in Greece” on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd October. The two-day event celebrates the HELIX project ending its implementation phase and the Hellenic Data Service entering operations in the Greek Research and Innovation area at full speed, with the support of the OpenAIRE NOAD in Greece and National Library of Greece.
“Open Science Days in Greece” welcomes colleagues and exceptional personalities from Greece and the European region, aiming to collect case studies on the design and implementation of Open Science from other countries and settings, as well as to strengthen communication and cooperation with local policy communities. The event will be hybrid, will be livestreamed on ATHENA YouTube Channel and will also take place at Book Castle, National Library of Greece, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).
It should be noted that the entry is allowed only with SARS-Cov -2 Vaccination record certificate or EU digital COVID certficate of recovery.
The event:

Highlights EU strategic guidelines on access, reuse, and exploitation of scientific information and research data (Open Science, Horizon Europe, etc.)

Informs about the European Open Science Cloud - EOSC, the latest activities at European level, as well as the National Representation (EOSC Association) and the contribution to EOSC development and operation.

Acknowledges the productive cooperation of the bottom-up Open Science Task Force which led to a joint proposal for a National Open Science Plan and the commitments mentioned in its context.

Communicates experiences and good practices from other countries and R&I settings that inspire Open Science implementation and EOSC alignment in Greece.
The event will be in both Greek and English, and livestreamed on the ATHENA YouTube Channel.
