On 17th December, "Athena" Research Center organized a public Circular Economy knowledge transfer public workshop that aims at bringing together major stakeholders from the Business, Finance and Policy sectors in all Balkan countries and presenting them the findings of the research conducted under the Circular Economy Beacons project, co-funded by EIT Climate-KIC. This research aimed at measuring the real cost and benefits of a company from the jewellery industry transiting to the circular economy using Life Cost Assessment (LCA). In our analysis, we aim to bring together all Sustainability components, namely, the environmental, the economic and the societal. It will follow a discussion on the funding opportunities and industry needs towards the adaptation of a circular economy framework.

This workshop is part of the Circular Economy Beacons project (co-funded by EIT Climate-KIC) that aims to build an eco-system for circular, climate-related innovation that catalyzes systemic transition in sequences from experiment through collaboration to implementation. Circular Economy Beacons is led by Cirecon - Circular Economy Services, "Athena" Research Center, Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, Cleantech Bulgaria, Timis Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the Regional Education and Information Centre for Sustainable Development in South-East Europe.
